I am glad to know that you wish to choose this career option very less travelled by young women today. Montessori level of education is a very critical level for child's growth, development and future. This is the stage where a child first learns to be away from his / her mother and be among unknown other children of same age. This is the stage which is the first towards making children social. Montessori teaching courses are available with IGNOU, SCDL, SNDT, etc.
Montessori course from IGNOU is good and recognised however I have not seen anybody do that course. Since you are based in Thane, I cannot recommend you SNDT University montessori course since it is a full time course with classroom teachings and placements later. What I would like to suggest you is to explore Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL)'s One Year Post Graduate Diploma in Pre-Primary Teachers Training. This course is distance learning based and you need not attend classes. However faculty support is available through video conferencing, mails and phone. Also SCDL gives VCD, CD for self-learning. There are number of assignments to be completed and submitted for assessment periodically. The course fee is around Rs. 20000 and is a one year course. The PG Diploma is valid since it is offered by Symbiosis Institute which is well known all over. SCDL also gives placements assistance to successful candidates. I suggest you to visit www.scdl.net where you will be able to see the course curriculum. Doing this course will give you the flexibility of studying as well as a recognised Post Graduate Diploma. There is one another institute by the name "National Academy" located at Ram Maruti Road, Thane which also gives courses, but they are affiliated to Uttarakhand Education Trust .
