Hello. 

Aeronautical engineering is the specialized branch of aerospace engineering for the aviation industry. It involves studying, designing, construction and science of the airplanes and other spacecraft. For becoming successful in this field one should have manual, technical, mechanical aptitude, must be alert, able to work at good speed with accuracy, normal color vision and an eye for detail.

For going in this field you have to give JEE(Main) and JEE Advanced) Exam for getting admission in selected IIT’s offering course in aeronautical engineering and PEC, University of Technology. The minimum eligibility criteria for JEE (Mains) is that the student must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Maths and must have studied any one of the subjects as optional subjects (Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) and must have secured 50% marks in total including all subjects. Candidates who are appearing and have studied 5 subjects are also eligible to appear. The minimum eligibility criteria for JEE (Advanced) is that the student should write the JEE (Main) Exam Paper-I and passed with top 1, 50,000 rank from all categories. The student should also be in top 20% of his board exams. This criterion can change with time. For getting admission in PEC University of Technology you have to give entrance exam conducted by JAC(Joint admission committee). For further details and eligibility criteria refer to PEC University of technology website www.pec.ac.in. After giving this exam you will get admission in B.E./B.Tech (Aeronautical Engineering).

 

After B.E./B.Tech you can have Associate Membership of the Aeronautical Society of India which was established in 1948. This is a professional body with a large number of corporate members, including all major organizations and industries in the aeronautics field in the country and also some of the world’s leading aeronautical industries. The society conducts Associate Membership Examination. Sections A and B of this examination has been recognized by the ministry of education with bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering from an Indian University. Students passing this exam are eligible to appear in GATE or post-graduate studies at IITs.
