Dear Aakar,
Congratualations! you got a new job.
It is a personal decision whether to take a break or not.
Now, it also depends on the new organization if they are willing to give you a joining period of 10 days.
The Second reason is why you want to take a break, if it is to rejuvenate you, then surely you must.
I would recommend that during this break you should study the new company, your job role in detail, so that you find it easy to take up the new responsibility.
If there is any gap between the skill set you have and what the job demands, then it is best to utilize this time to bridge the gap, by doing some training/courses.
Otherwise, it is never mandatory to take a break
Before taking the final decision, please read the by-laws of your previous employer just to ascertain that they have not put a clause in such a way that you would not be able to join a new job within 10 days period.
During this period you can do all your pending tasks, that is not possible during your working days.
You can catch up with friends, with family, most importantly with yourself.
Just one more point, if you are medically covered by your first job, then find out about the insurance during the break period.
Hope this helps
Happy Career Planning

Dear Aspirant,
Taking a 10 day break is definitely fine as far as your next employment order is confirmed and is in your hands. Also if you have informed the next employer about your joining date and they have agreed and has been mentioned in your appointment letter, there is no need to worry for the break.
Such breaks while shifting from one job to another are taken by many candidates and there is nothing wrong or objectionable by the next employer.
Taking the break is sometimes essential to just get mentally free and relaxed and join a fresh with the new employer. Relaxing for 10 days is absolutely fine and you should definitely enjoy the period.
Best wishes
