From your question, it seems that you are a Biotech student or you wish to pursue your studies in the biotech field.

As the name suggests Biotech, is a combination of Biology and technology, whereby they are mainly involved in helping humans through the use of technology.
The modern invention we have in terms of CT scans machines, X-Ray machines, pacemakers etc are a result of biotech. Also they are mainly into research, about new developments happening.
Also research into different aspects like genetic and its effects on human growth, food and microbes and its effects, animal husbandry, agriculture and so on.

  1. Being a diverse field and applicable in all aspects of the society, you need to be knowledgeable about all the inter related fields. The best guide for books that you should read would be your professors as well as ex-students or professionals in the field. Apart from this you should be the one who must develop an interests to find out more, rather curiosity to know little details about the subject in hand.
So all types of magazines related to new inventions in the field is a must. Magazines may also list out few books, which you can read, either online or in a library.
Few names I came across, could be helpful like:
  • Genetic fundamental and genetic Engineering
  • Bio Processing
  • Genomics and Bioinformatics
  • Primary metabolisms
  • The last hours of Ancient sunlight
  • The lost language of Plants
  • Gardening for the future of the earth
  • Principles of ecological designs

Hope this helps you. Since you are into the field, you would know better options of books that can support your endevour.

Wish you all the very best....
