I m a 2nd year student .. I m an aspirant of civil services.. but m confused as wat to do after graduation ??should I go for mba or start preparing for civil services or m.com ??? What is d procedure of cat ??
Hello My Dear,
Hi, Suprit
The following link gives you details of the syllabus for the Civil Services exam.
http://byjus.com/ias/upsc-syllabus.
You will know how to go about preparing for the same year. It should take general preparation plus one year of intense coaching and preparation to crack the Civil Services.
The optional subjects include Commerce and Accountancy, Management and Economics. Hence, a MBA(Finance) will help, if you go for the same. Your subjects chosen for M.Com should be on these lines.
A MBA shapes you better for the group discussion, interview and General Studies. A M.Com does not hold additional value in the job market, other than for a PhD or a teaching job. A MBA also provides other job opportunities as Plan B (in case you do not make it to the Civil Services in the first attempt).
Do not give up on your Civil Services dream, and attempt it for sure. You also need to be aware of the challenges that an administrative career poses. I would advise you to take an assessment test to gauge your strengths, and then, decide on the future course of action.
Hi Suprit.. If you are very much confident about Civil Service, you can go for that. Other wise it is better to be prepared for a job and then go for CS. Both MBA and M.Com are good courses to pursue and giving more job opportunities
