Career in MBA for Computer Science students

MBA is a very attractive qualification for employers to hire a candidate for their organizations. MBA is a master’s degree in Business Administration requires two years for completion. Aspirants can be enrolled for the course after completion of graduation with a minimum of 45-50% marks and securing the qualifying marks in the entrance examinations.

Full-Time MBA

A full-time MBA is a regular master’s degree MBA course of two years. Candidates must have to secure good marks in the entrance tests; CAT, GMAT, MAT, etc, to get admission to a good and reputed B-School for the course.

There are many streams, you can choose from according to your interest, to pursue an MBA degree with. Some regular streams are; HR, Finance, Marketing, Infrastructure, and real estate management and entrepreneurship management, etc.

So if you have done you any bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT; B.tech or BCA with minimum 50% marks. This is the best option to look for a regular 2 years MBA with a reputed B-school if you want to change your career prospects from Computer science to MBA.

Part-Time MBA

Part-time MBA is for working professionals. So if you are in a job after you B.tech then part-time MBA is the best way to turn your career.

Part-Time MBA has the following requirements.

– Graduation Degree with 50% marks

– Minimum 3 years of Working experience

– Age should be minimum of 27 and a maximum of 50 years.

Part-time MBA too provides a chance to do with various specialization fields like Finance and Accounting, Marketing and International Business, etc.

If you want to it with a reputed B-School then you would have to go through the selection process – WAT (Writing Ability Test), GD, and PI.

Distance MBA

You would know the distance education where you needn’t attend the regular class only have to submit project works if required and appear for the exams.

There are many institutions conduct Distance online MBA like IGNOU.

The eligibility is the same as regular MBA, You would have to secure good marks in the Entrance exams – CAT, CMAT, GMAT. some colleges have their selection process.

PGDM

Post Graduate Diploma In Management and Post Graduate Program In Management – PGPM, are the PG management course.

These courses are designed as Industrial requirements. PGDM has not less value then MBA as all top management institutions like IIMs and XLRI offer this program.

As we said PGDM is an industry-driven course so the syllabus of it designed by the institutions themself but the core subjects would be the same as MBA.

Candidate should pass the entrance exam to get enrolled for the 2 years PDGM course.

PGDM is approved by the Indian Government, and after passing with good marks candidate can appear for the Ph.D. program.

Online MBA

Online MBA is pretty similar to Distance learning, In the online MBA, you would have the option to learn through online stuff.

Many universities conduct an online MBA program.

Amity University, Vedanta Open University, and ITM university are some top universities provide an Online MBA facility with all possible streams.

No need for an Instance exam to clear, candidates only require a minimum of 40% marks at graduation level.

Entrance exams

The entrance exam for the MBA is focused mainly to identify and test the communication skills of the candidates, so every aspirant must have a good hand in the English Language.

Logical Reasoning and Quantitative ability test are other parts of the entrance exams.

The exams generally divide into three parts

  • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
  • Data interpretation and Logical Reasoning.

The exams are for 100 marks in total. The level of the questions is different in different entrance exams.
