Dear Aspirant,

Really an interesting question.

Yes in olden days, joining a circus for earning the daily bread was definitely a choice of many people. Circus used to be a good employer in those days which used to pay daily/weekly/monthly. However the jobs in a circus were not only with animal training, but lot of others like makeup of animals and circus performers, infrastructure supplies, food, poultry, hygience, etc. It was an industry in itself.

As the regulations came in restricting the animal use in circus and lot of torture was seen on animals, circus is now without animals.

In olden days people used to really run away and join circus for career.

Best wishes

Hey Achla

It’s indeed a different and interesting question. Now a day’s circus is more about magic, music, gymnastics, acting, dance and jugglery. Few years ago, the major attraction used to be a long list of wild animals that obey the ringmaster.

The Circus tent used to be a fascinating place and there were many jobs in it depending on a person’s skills. So answer to your question is yes, people used to run away from home to join circus.
