Hello There!

There is a natural perception in the student community that MBA can only be easy for and done by commerce and engineering students. However let me tell you that this is a great misconception.

I am happy that you approached CareerGuide for seeking clarification on this query and let me assure that you are at the very right place.

Just a little about myself - I am an Educationist and Economist. I have been into counseling for students from commerce / management / law / engineering for more than seven years now. I am also into teaching and have been a nation wide published author for reputed newspapers and magazines on various topics including career management and economics.

As said above, MBA can be done by any stream student however excluding Fine Arts students.

MBA as you may be aware that it is a course about management, strategy, people, processes, etc. If you see the composition of applicants to various MBA entrance tests like CAT, MAT, CMAT, SNAP, etc. majority of the students are from engineering / science streams. Rest are from commerce and arts streams.

Therefore as a BA graduate you definitely can do MBA. You will be eligible to appear for any entrance tests like mentioned above and get admission to MBA colleges based on your performance in the entrance tests. It is recommended that you appear for at least two entrance tests so that the highest score from them can be used to get entry into good MBA colleges.

As an Arts graduate, in MBA majorly students choose specialization like Marketing, Human Resource, International Business. However if you are good at numbers, calculations, etc. you may definitely opt for Finance. If you opt for Finance, considering your Arts background, you will need to put in a little more efforts in getting to understand the typical commerce subjects like economics, maths, law, accounting, taxation, etc. However I would say that if engineering students can cope with commerce subjects why cant a student like you who has Arts background do it?

So I would say that be confident, determined, dedicated and you can surely complete MBA with any specialization with good marks and percentage. However it is not recommended to choose Operations as a specialization, since it is highly technical oriented and more favorable for science / engineering students.

Best Luck.

Hello dear friend...

Yes of course you can do MBA after BA no problem in that and any body who completed his graduation can do MBA - master in business administration.

First of all thank you for coming to meracareerguide with your query and asking us your doubts and questions regarding career, education and your future, It is always our pleasure to answer and guide you in your career path.

Coming to your query I would like to inform you happily that no doubt at all, without any problem you are elgible to do MBA, the only thing is you should pass your graduation fairly.
after that to enroll in some MBA courses offered by so many colleges in India, you need to give entrance exmas. The standard of college and private or govt decides the way of selection of candidates.

In case you want to get admission in top colleges for MBA than you have to go for CAT- common entrance test entrance which is a national level entrance exam and secure good percentile in that now a days it is having cut off aroun 98 percentile to get slected in IIM- Indian institute of management and than again it will be followed by group discussion and personal intervies to get selected.

In case you are looking for average colleges and not that much high standard than you go for entrance exams conducted in state level like joint entrance or something else. Some colleges even conduct separate entrace exams for thier college only. Next timme come back with the preferred choices of college and prefered location to know more about what will be suitable for you.
Hope you got your answer of your question that you can do MBA in any case, not to worry rather start preparing for the entrance exams to got selected in some nice and good colleges. while deciding college choice keep in mind that the college is having good placement ooportunities for student. Other wise later you will be facing problem in getting jobs and than agian you will suffer pain of umemployment.
So beeter be careful and alert in college selection and deciding what is best for you.
All the best for your future
Thank you
