Career is one of the important part and important thing in every one's life. Career is to be selected very wisely by every individual.
Career selection is not given much importance many a times by students and parents and so the student land up in a wrong career. Students select a career option under the Parents pressure or under the peer pressure. Selection of career is also done by the students by following the crowd and also under a great influence by Media.
It's good to hear you have been enquiring how the career selection is to be done after 10th. Very few students have this kind of approach towards the career selection.
While selecting a career one should consider some of the following things-1.One should consider the area of Interest always while selecting a career.2.Speak with the Career Counsellor /Psychologist to know about the various career options available from all the streams, its scope, job profiles etc.3.Study the market trends, look out what is the current career requirements and what would be the future career needs.4.Try to take the Psychometric Career Assessment. These assessments assess the students on its area of interest,Strengths and Weaknesses,Personality Traits,Emotional Quotient etc. These assessments help to know the clear picture where we can make our career considering all the above mentioned things.
I would personally suggest you to take the Career Assessment. This you can take from the Career Guide.Com and can have the counselling session with the career expert with whom you wish to speak from the Career Guide's Panel.
I hope you find this information useful and helpful.
Feel free and do write us back for your further career queries.
Wish you Good Luck

I must say, you have asked one of the most important question and this question must be asked by every student who wishes to be successful at one go itself.
Career choice must e purely based on ones potentials, ones strength and most importantly Interest. When one is interested in a subject, however difficult it be, one would pursue it till the end.Hence we see many professionals who have made hobbies to be their career.
Thus the best way to select a career would be "Self Introspection". One must know themselves thoroughly. What is ones strength, what is their interests, what is their passion, what kind of person are you???Once this question is clear, the stream aspect definitely becomes then an easier choice.
Other than this, we recommend Aptitude tests to students. An Aptitude tests would be able to pinpoint the child's potentials and help them then make a confirmed choice.
Though as a Counselor I recommend both Aptitude tests as well as Self Introspection.
Hope this helpsWish you good luck...
