Dear Friend
Creativity is the inherent skill of human being which enables you to be the best trait in the world. Creativity is defined as "development of ideas, products or solutions that are perceived both as i) unique and noble and ii) relevant and useful.
Yo can define creativity in another way: tendency to generate or recognise ideas, alternatives or possibilities that may be helpful in solving problems, communicating with others, entertaining ourselves and others--quoted by Franken, Human motivation.

First you need to check your inherent competency which represents the set of creative sculptures those are hidden within you, as it is juxtapose of your working style even in your writing style, speaking style, one can see your creative art at every walk of your life which is reflected in your attitude and thereby you can convert it into the aptitude as a skill.

Similarly a petroleum engineer is the ultimate symbol of creativity without this potential no one sustain the word of recognition. As you are slightly confused with your opinion which reflects in your query that creativity is required for petroleum engineer? You can not become a professional in any stream whether it is science and technology oriented profession or humanity or arts everywhere this common tool which is related to your overall personality and dynamism, without creativity you can not pursue any elite kind of study.

Petroleum Engineer

Now let us discuss the specific creativity for petroleum engineering:

Academic intellect: This seems to be the basic instinct which initiate the programming of your educational part for a particular course where petro-engineering is not the exception. Based on thes specialization your creative skill quest you why I should take it up ultimately you will reminder the quote stated earlier by Franken and analyse the role of engineers in society. Engineers deploy the academic intellect with the given problem and enjoy the complexity of the same with the creative skill. It is very common that creativity makes you comfortable and gets you out of the boredom at any circumstances given for the situation. That is why you are given special treatment in the society where you could be able to help others with your communication power and will be able to convert the impossibility to the best possible happenings.

That is why petroleum engineers are tagged with the creativity before joining the club. Hope you understood the points what I explained with my experience.
