Dear Aspirant,
Thanks for approaching us at CareerGuide.com.
I feel, your heart and your study record by now has already given the indication that you should not select Science field. Please do not think that careers can be made only when one takes science stream.
Just liking biology cannot make a career at this stage. It is a must that you clear 12th with PCM or PCB. Currently our education system does not allow only one subject course at 12th level. Post 12th level you can specialise in Biology.
I would suggest is not to have a grudge in your mind about physics and maths and try to learn these subjects. ORLeave the science stream and get into arts or commerce.
To be best sure of what suits you for your career, I would suggest you to undergo a psychometric test from CareerGuide.com which will help you understand yourself in respect of your strengths, weaknesses, emotional quotient, etc. and will exactly tell you which stream is good for you.
Best wishes,
Dr. Anand WadadekarFounder Director & CEO - Discovering Careers Indiawww.discoveringcareers.com
Hello, thanks for writing to us counsellors. Having interest in Biology alone will not help you to lead a career in science stream. Biology too includes Chemistry and you will realise this later when you go into degree level. For example, when you study body reactions, you will have to study more on chemistry, bio chemistry and bio-organic chemistry. So discarding chemistry will not help you to get into a Science career in future. Even for Biology sake, if you choose to study Nutrition and Dietics course at BA/ BSc level, it does bring in some amount of chemistry into this degree. So I would say, having some interest only in Biology will alone not help you with careers or even to pass your degree. You should be equally competent in other science modules like Physics and Chemistry.
If you are yet struggling and unable to arrive on a clear idea, the only way to help you at this situation is to put you through a Psychometric Career Assessment. CareerGuide website has this provision of assessing your skills and interests as per your individuality, and doing this test will help you identify your interests, what you want to become in future and what subjects will be required to achieve your desired career. So I would strongly recommend you to give a try on the psychometric testing to identify the right subjects and career path for you. All the best.
