Hello Tanyaeapan,
Welcome to CareerGuide.com!!!
Thanks for sharing your query with us.
Congratulations first of all for passing your 10th std and getting admitted in 11th. Well in your case its very clear from your question that you like Biology and least have interest in Physics and Chemistry. Again while selecting a group you have three options i.e
Group 1- Physics,Chemistry and Maths
Group 2- Physics,Chemistry and Biology
Group 3-Physics,Chemistry,Biology and Maths.

So you can either select group 2 or group 3 as mentioned above but there is no option where you can quit Physics and Chemistry subjects;you have an option to quit maths subject.
The major question here is in which area you want to make your career in near future. By selecting biology subject you have a very good career opportunities in near future where you will have bright future. You can get into Medical,Agriculture,Botany,Geology,Oceanography,Floriculture,Horticulture,Zoology,Bio-diesel,Pharmacy,unani,Ayurveda,Homeopathy,Naturopathy, B.D.S, Para- Medical,Physiotherapy,Occuptional Therapy,Speech Therapy,Lab. technolgy,Nursing, optometry,Human Biology,Bio-technology,Genetic science,Dairy etc.

So select the subject that you like i.e biology and study that but also you must study Physics and Chemistry because Physics,Chemistry and Biology are the three pillars of Science. Learning these subjects will help you in some or the other way in your further studies and career life.

Wish you good luck for your great career life in the field of Science.

I hope you find the information useful and helpful.

Feel free to get in touch for any query related to your career.

Thank you

Warm Regards,
Prathamesh K.

Dear Aspirant,

Thanks for approaching us at CareerGuide.com.

I feel, your heart and your study record by now has already given the indication that you should not select Science field. Please do not think that careers can be made only when one takes science stream.

Just liking biology cannot make a career at this stage. It is a must that you clear 12th with PCM or PCB. Currently our education system does not allow only one subject course at 12th level. Post 12th level you can specialise in Biology.

I would suggest is not to have a grudge in your mind about physics and maths and try to learn these subjects.
OR
Leave the science stream and get into arts or commerce.

To be best sure of what suits you for your career, I would suggest you to undergo a psychometric test from CareerGuide.com which will help you understand yourself in respect of your strengths, weaknesses, emotional quotient, etc. and will exactly tell you which stream is good for you.

Best wishes,

Hello, thanks for writing to us counsellors. Having interest in Biology alone will not help you to lead a career in science stream. Biology too includes Chemistry and you will realise this later when you go into degree level. For example, when you study body reactions, you will have to study more on chemistry, bio chemistry and bio-organic chemistry. So discarding chemistry will not help you to get into a Science career in future. Even for Biology sake, if you choose to study Nutrition and Dietics course at BA/ BSc level, it does bring in some amount of chemistry into this degree. So I would say, having some interest only in Biology will alone not help you with careers or even to pass your degree. You should be equally competent in other science modules like Physics and Chemistry.

However there is a choice if you really want to skip Physics and Chemistry. You can do your 11th and 12th at International board instead of CBSE or State board. International curriculum such as the Cambridge curriculum will have options for students to pick five subjects of their choice. In this case, you can only choose to study Biology and leave Physics and Chemistry out of your hands. But you will have to select four more subjects at this situation and so you will have to find what other subjects may really interest you. Students are usually given Economics, Business studies, French, English, other languages, Electronics and so on. So look into the school's subject list to identify the one that you will feel comfortable with for the next two years and all your life.

If you are yet struggling and unable to arrive on a clear idea, the only way to help you at this situation is to put you through a Psychometric Career Assessment. CareerGuide website has this provision of assessing your skills and interests as per your individuality, and doing this test will help you identify your interests, what you want to become in future and what subjects will be required to achieve your desired career. So I would strongly recommend you to give a try on the psychometric testing to identify the right subjects and career path for you. All the best.
