500+ Career Options
1M+ Test Taken
Hi There,
To pursue IFS, you need to appear for the Civil service exams, for which minimum eligibility is being a Graduate.
You could be a Graduate in any field, does not matter. Choose the stream you are interested in.
In-case confused, I would suggest, opt for a Career counseling session or Aptitude test, which would reveal your aptitude and ability and help you make a confirmed choice.
As far as Civil service exams are concerned, for clearing their entrance exam, you could join coaching classes, But get well prepared with GK, current affairs and other necessities. Reading is a must. read everything right from sports to cookery to entertainment to politics to history to current affairs. But please note that just not reading will help, you need to be able to articulate it well and stick to your point.
So a discussion with family or teachers as a form of debate is important.
Work on your logical and analytical skills and learn to be witty.
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck..
Dear Aspirant,
I agree with Ms. Meghna.
Stream is not very important for clearing the UPSC examinations. Always remember that UPSC exams for IAS, IFS, IPS, require overall knowledge and overall command over the subjects. Jack of all is what is required and a master of few.
IFS is a good career option and you may select Arts stream and select Political Science as your under graduate course degree specialisation. This may help in UPSC exams.
Taking a coaching class for UPSC preparation is recommended so that you have lots of practice, confidence and guidance at every time. You are thinking for UPSC exam at a very right time and I would like to compliment you for this.
Best wishes
