Hello dear....

I can understand your difficulty and how you are feeling now, but not to worry a little focus and guidance can help your kid to be focus in studies.
all you have to motivate him and develop interest in studies for him, either by making small targets for him and big target like scoring good grades in tenth.
You can daily give him some task to be completed in studies and after coming home you check whether he did it or not, guide him well, a right amount of study will definitely give him a good score in exam.
If you are not able to handle the studies part than you can keep some tutor for him, and side by side you keep monitoring as he will be alert that my father is taking care so I need to do good.

You need to counsel him well, as this is the age of 15 - 16 years and very easily they will get attracted to other things and which will be a distraction from studies, you should try to keep him away from those distraction as far as possible.
so counselling is very important. at times you need to be little strict too. do not be so strict that will make him scared or rebellious.
Only convincing him by explaining the importance of studies and how it will help him in future will be great help to you I guess.

Again i would like to suggest you to take your son for psychometric assessment test in CareerGuide.com where you can learn about his strength weakness and other important points, which will help you to guide him in a better way.

All the best.
Thank you

Hello My Dear Parent,

Children not knowing what to do after their SSC is a general phenomena and you really do not have to worry extremely. I am happy to know that you are a concerned parent and wish to plan for your child's education cautiously and by being well informed.

I am glad that you decided to approach CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance and clarification for your child's education.

In my more than seven years of career counselling experience and with me into teaching and so close to students community more, I observe that untill the SSC year, students really do not know what to do an d they say that let the SSC exams get over and then we will think what can be done. In fact, the SSC level is itself a good stage and a year to judge what interests, like science, maths, civics, theory, history, etc.

Choosing career option after SSC:

Choosing a career stream (Arts, Commerce and Science) is really a tough task but can be made easy by following some simple yet effective ways.

As a parent, (with my experience too as a parent), it is always better to follow your child's innver voice and passion areas. The first thing which can be done is to indentify the passion, liking and interest areas of your child. It may be abotu maths, theoritcal subjects, scientific subjects, etc.

If a child follows his passion and takes it as a career option, then it is certain that he / she will be successful.

I would suggest to you as a parent that you need to assess the individual subject marks of your child which may give you some indication of what he likes and what he hates to study. Studying is an essential part of being and having a successful career, there fore studies and the liking to study should be secondary. However it should not be too much of a botheration and importance.

Emotional connect is some thing which is very important for a person to get successful and also choose a career option.

Psychometric Test:

Psychometric Test is an ideal, proven and world famous technique for assessing the real talent, passion, interests, likings, in a child. The Idea Career Assessment Test available at CareerGuide.com is a fantastic tool to know all the above aspects of your child. This test result will be a great torch bearer to decide the stream of career after SSC.

Best Luck
