Below is the list of the skills that you require to have so that you can get a good job as an electronics and telecom engineer:

1. First of all you need to be really good with your problem solving skills. This is also the first rule of engineering. The ability to solve the complex problems determines how good you are as an engineer and therefore you need to do that with perfection. This is an important factor in the written exams that companies conduct for the hiring purposes and also test this skill during the interviews. Therefore you need to work on problem solving skills. Solving puzzles and riddles along with basic maths questions is a good habit.

You need to sharpen your understanding about the electronics design and the various processes involved in it. You need to have good knowledge about various electronics devices and on what principle they work on. Apart from that you really need to learn about the software that you will be working on. The electronics design software, communication software like MATLAB, circuit design and fabrication software are really important. You should be able to use them with ease. Doing a few projects on such tools and software is going to have a huge benefit in getting a job.

3. The other important skill to have is to be a good team player and the team management skills. As an electronics and telecom engineer you won't only be working with the software but also with your team members and therefore you effectively you can communicate with them and coordinate to produce good results, determines your overall efficiency.

4. You need to really work on your communication skills and sharpen them. this is specially required while working in the large corporate companies where having the right communication skills is mandatory.
