The working hours of a Chef depend on the kind of hotel, catering company or any other institution they are working with. Therefor I will try to mention their working hours in terms of the place they are working at:

1. Hotels:Working in hotels require 45-50 hours of work in a week. The number of working days are either 5 or 6 depending on the hotel's requirements. They have to reach the place early in the morning so that the necessary preparations are done.

2. Catering Companies:The catering companies require a lot of work. Therefore, one may have to work more than even 50 hours a week. The work starts early morning and remains till late night. Although they are not required to work all the days and they do get a number of days off, but when there's work load they are supposed to work for 12-14 hours a day.

3. Public Sector:While working in the public sector, Chefs get to have more of relaxed time compared to other jobs. The work hours are generally 8 -10 hours a day but it involves a lot of free time in between. They do have to do certain administerial jobs during that time.

4. Personal Chef:Working as a personal Chef gives you a lot of flexibility in terms of working hours. It all depends on the client that you work with. You get the days off acording to the client. At times you will have to attend them as per their schedule. But you can adjust the hours by talking to them and seeing the requirements.

5. Private Organizations:In this case, the working hours are very much fixed. They may vary from 40-45 hours a week depending on how many days the organization works in a week. One has to be really punctual in this setting and needs to maintain the records of expenses and costs regularly.

Based on this information, you can easily decide which sector would be suitable for you in terms of time and comfort.
