Hi Madhur,

There are some courses in Pharmacy are:
1)2 years Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm).
2)4 years Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm).
3)2 years Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) and Ph.d programmes.

Admission to Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) requires a pass in 12th or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Maths.
Candidates who passes 10+2 with PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Maths) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) are admitted to the 4-year bachelors program level B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy). At Bachelor level there is no specialization. At the masters level (M Pharm) specialization is available in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Chemistry etc. And after M.Pharm candidate can go for Ph.d programme in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Marketing & Management,

After obtaining a B.Pharm or D.Pharm and registering with the state Pharmacy Council, it is possible to set up your own pharmacy or chemists and druggists shop to stock and sell medicines and dispense them according to doctor’s prescription.

Dear Aspirant,

For the degree course in Pharmacy, 10+2 with PCB is required. To get admission into the top Pharmacy colleges in India, you will require to score atleast 90% in 12th.

There is an entrance test for Pharmacy courses which is based on 12th PCB knowledge.

Best wishes

Hello Madhur

It would be more helpful if you specify which state you belong to or which university you want to join. The eligibility criteria are answered by Ms Deepika. In addition to that state level entrance exams or university level entrance exams are conducted. E.g. Maharashtra state conducts MHTCET for admission to B.Pharm. course. One needs to appear for and clear the entrance exam. These entrance exams are based on 10+2 syllabus and consists of multiple choice questions.

 All the best
