Hi, Yes, you can do M. Sc. in Physics after completing B. Sc. in General. After then if you are interested in serving the Government in the Education Field you can go with the CSIR NET Physical Science Exam. CSIR NET is the Exam which is conducted every year for the selection of Lectures and Junior Research Fellows in very prestigious colleges. Thanks  

To pursue a PhD in economics, you must hold a Masters in Economics. If you have cleared the NET exam, then you are eligible to teach as an assistant professor. If you also hold JRF, then you will get a stipend from UGC if you have taken admission in M.Phil or PhD. Otherwise, you will get stipend from the concerned department or University.
