About bits choice of campus for be programme and choice of stream

Hello sir,%0d%0a I scored 332/450 in bitsat. I want to pursue computer science as my stream . With this much marks I won't be able to get bits pilani campus but bits goa campus for my stream.%0d%0aMy problem is about bits goa . As it was started in 2004,I doubt this college to be just working under the brand name of bits pilani . I have read so many articles about its ranking on Internet but answers are confusing. None of them give a clear-cut answer . %0d%0aSir I want to know its(bits goa) actual condition in education and placements in COMPUTER SCIENCE. %0d%0aIs it a appropriate college for computer science student?%0d%0aSir ,%0d%0aI have another query. %0d%0aOut of %0d%0acomputer science and electronics , which has a better career options in future?

Congratulations to you for securing 332/450 Marks in BITSAT. BITS is considered as one of the top 10 Institutes of the country.
Unorganised Sector
Since you have suggested you wanted to pursue Computer Engineering only, the best option would be BITS Pilani, but based on last few years cutoff for CS it would be difficult.

The cutoff last year (2013) for BITS Pilani in Pilani Campus was 354 for BE (Comp)
BITS Goa had Cutoff of 323 and BITS Hydrabad had cutoff of 316

The GOA Campus of BITS has been ranked along with Pilani campus and in most of the ranking available its BITS Pilani (All Campus) are ranked and not GOA or Hyderabad campus.

GOA has been set up after Pilani and After GOA Campus HYDRABAD campus also came in to exhistance, thus the placement and other details of faculty has been good.

One more factor Associated with BITS which set it above all the engineering institute is that in BITS campuses there is no reservation based on caste or category and thus all the student get in to on their merit, which is known by almost all the corporate and thus the placement are above average in all the BITS campus.

One of my student is also doing his BE from BITS Goa and during our conversation he always told me that the institute is quite good and has good facilities along with very good education and placement.

According to me you should Apply for BITS in following criterial

1) BITS Pilani as first preference
2)BITS Goa
3) BITS Pilani Integrated Course with Maths Msc
4) BITS Goa Integrated course with Msc in Maths

and if you can consider taking so 5 year intergrated course and by working really hard on your academics in first year purley based on your performance you can promote yourself if you do well into computer engineering in next year.

One more thing which you would get in BITS campuses are that they also provide inter campus moment of student with up gradation in stream if student has done quite good in academics.

Thus my suggestion would be to join BITS brand and work hard to move bits pilani, at the end you would be still in top 10 colleges of country
