Why this shift dear?
Because it is a huge makeover. Once you leave engineering and enter counseling profession, and wish to get back to engineering, you would start from the basics.
As far as counseling is concerned, there are many Open University that provide a masters degree in counseling eg. IGNOU.
You could opt for those courses and get familiarised with the testing and counseling or therapies.
But please note, since they are distance learning programs, they do not provide internships. So best would be that while pursuing the course, work with the counseling centre and get practical experience.
As far as Career counselign is concerned, there is an option for a Diploma in guidance and counseling 2 years program available. But on a similar note, while studying or rather before opting for the course, get hang of what career counseling is all about and its process and only then make a choice.
