The UGC NET Exam is conducted two times a year (July & December) so you have got a good opportunity to apply for it.
If you check the eligibility criteria, candidates who pose the master degree are eligible to appear in UGC NET. But If you are in final year of postgraduation then you are also eligible to appear in it.

Important note- As per the official announcement, the upcoming UGC NET Exam (December 2018) will be organised by NTA (National Testing Agency).
