Statistics is a branch of Mathematics that translates Numbers into Knowledge for a layman in the form of Graphs Presentation. The core work of the Statistician is to apply the methodology and theory of statistics.

Statistics means interpreting the data of numbers into Graphs. Its the branch of Mathematics which deals with the collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of masses of numerical data.

Statistician make use of various methods like questionnaires, surveys and various tests in a wide range of disciplines like education,IT,Medical,Pharmacy,Economics,Physics etc.

After completing a degree in statistics a candidate can either go for further studies i.e M.Sc ( Statistics) or M.Stats or can take up a job in Public Sector or Private Sector.

However answering your question relevancy and scope of doing MBA after Statistics-
If we consider MBA its completely related to the Management and if you are willing to go for the Managerial Positions or Administrative Positions like Finance Manager,Human Resource Manager,Marketing Manager etc. than you can give a thought of going with MBA.However going with MBA will completely lead towards Management. And their is a good scope for the right and deserving candidate.

The Career opportunities are also good for Statistician both in Public Sector and Private Sector.
You can have glimpse of career opportunities with statistics-

In Public Sector one can apply for Indian Statistical Services (ISS),Subordinate Statistical Services (SSS). In India there are around 97 institutes under Indian Council of Agriculture (ICAR) and 45 Agricultural Universities requiring a huge human resource to work in Statistics. You can give exams of Agriculture Research Service (ARS).

While other than this one can apply to Accenture,GE Capital,Genpact,Cognizant,American Express,HDFC,RBI,HSBC,HP,Indian
Market Research Bureau and etc.

One can also work with UN Bodies like ICARDA,ICRISAT.

I hope you find this information useful and helpful.

Feel free to get in touch again.

Wish you Good Luck sunny

Thank You

Warm Regards,

Dear Aspirant,

The straight answer to your question is remove the MBA from your mind, if you wish to be a Statistician.

Not every field requires MBA degree for career growth. Without MBA one cannot progress and get into managerial position is a great FALSE.

As a Statistician you will gain much more than any MBA. Statistician is the highest and toughest level of course.

Statistics Majors will give you awesome jobs since Statisticians are scarce in supply.

Best wishes
