Can I get admission in MCA regular without maths in 10+2?

Dear sir/madam I am pursuing BCA from PTU distance.I'm at the last semester. I would like to know if I'm eligible for MCA regular? I didn't have maths in my 10+2. But I do have maths in BCA. If i'm eligible what are the universities that would allow me to, and what are the steps to be taken after my completion of BCA?

Hello My Dear Aspirant,

I am glad that you brought your wonderful query to us at CareerGuide.com and I am sure that the experts here will be surely able to give you insights which will help you decide your career.

MCA is a wonderful course and its demand as always been high in the industry and I am happy that you are thinking in the very right direction to pursue MCA after your graduation. Doing a post graduation today is the need of the hour, since it makes you jump in your career.

The eligibility of MCA course is any graduate who had maths at 10+2 or in graduation level.

Since you are already into BCA which is one level down to an MCA, YOU ARE DEFINITELY eligibile to pursue MCA course in future. Not having maths at 10+2 level is not a problem since your graduation will supercede your 10+2 marks criteria.

To start with, I would like to suggest you to concentrate on your last semester of your BCA. Always remember good marks and percentage in graduation is always appreciated and valuable, so do not lose focus and take short cuts in the studies and try using your full and maximum potential to appear for the last semester and score really good marks and percentage. Scoring good marks and percentage is itself a great motivator for one self and that actually gives more confidence to pursue post graduation or take upa job. Therefore I would really expect you to come out with flying colours in your BCA.

BCA is a solid foundation course for your post graduation that is MCA. Therefore whatever you have learnt in BCA, is very necessary for you to remember since it will be most useful for your post graduation. Also do not throw away the BCA books, botes, ppts or projects or assignments, since they will make you recollect what you have learnt in those three years of BCA course.

For MCA, you will be eligible in all the Universities in India based on your BCA qualification. MCA admission generally happens through a common entrance test conducted by Institutes and Universities. This entrance test tests your English, maths, etc capabilities.

You should prepare well for this entrance since competition is high.

Considering your passion towards computers, I am sure you will get through the entrance easily and become a wonderful MCA post graduate.

All The Best!
