Hi Vivek,
MS stands for Masters of Science and if you want to take your interest in technical studies, then you can also go for the M.Tech post graduate program which is more widely known in India. It is also equivalent to Master of Science, but it is most highly recognized in the Indian job market. Whereas MS is mostly known in outside of India, places like Europe and US. Now, commonly speaking when you say that you want to do Master of Science, it ensures that you are already a graduation degree holder candidate. Please keep your mind that in order to take admission in M.Tech of any top colleges in India, including the IITs and NITs colleges, please firstly apply for GATE entrance Exam which is stand for Graduate Aptitude Test of Engineering and is organized by the IITs. While gate exam, the questions asked will be based on B.Tech knowledge. There is no any age restriction apply for participating in this exam. You must be a B. Tech holder or appeared in the final year exam in B.Tech to participate this exam. If you have secure, less than 60%, then you may not eligible for some of the colleges which has fixed criteria for the B. Tech percentage marks to above than 60% but some other colleges which also allow students with lower percentage marks too. Thus, it should not be a big issue. You can easily participate in the exam. Also, if you want to get admission into MS from outside India then you have to apply for the GRE entrance exam. It is a special exam that has been designed for test technical knowledge of aspirants, so that student can get admission in the courses and colleges accordingly without any hesitation. Also, since you have secured 57% marks which is approximate close to the 60% marks, some colleges may give relaxation for you. If you have any type of quota in these entrances, then please always look to make full use of them in your admission process. May be you have got admission in top colleges.
Dear Aspirant,
Generally a first class (60%) on paper is what is asked by almost all Universities abroad for MS course.
I would suggest that doing MTech from India would be more better since it is also recognised abroad for jobs.
Actually its nice to know that you are interested in masters degree and wish to study more to get more technically sound.
Best wishes
