The Union Ministry of Human Resource (HRD Ministry) has decided that Class XII marks will not be a factor for determining rankings in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admissions to engineering undergraduate courses from next year.

12th Standard marks are not relevant for rank in JEE main but as an eligibility criteria wherein you should have atleast 75% ( 65% for SC/ST).

Hello,  Yes there is importance of class 12 marks in jee main 2017 bcoz the rank will be decided by the percentile formula in which there is a weightage of class 12 also

12th board marks do not have any importance in JEE, but you should get pass mark in 12th. Though, Your 12th score may make you eligible for admission in B.Tech in some of the univerities. If you have scored more than 90%in 12th, you will get direct admission in institutes like Lovely Professional University etc

. You will also get scholarship of about 70% of your fee.
