Dear Aspirant,

Inter-personal skills are required in any and every field of work, for the simple fact that you are the only person working alone in the company. You work in a team and the team may be of two people or may be of 2000 people.

Therefore once you are a part of a team, managing, understanding and working together require good inter personal skills. And this matters a lot. If you are a manager, then inter personal skills are very important since you are the person who is managing the work and people.

Engineering field is labour intensive and therefore inter personal skills is the skill which is atmost important.

To be best sure of what suits you for your career, I would suggest you to undergo a psychometric test from CareerGuide which will help you understand yourself in respect of your strengths, weaknesses, emotional quotient, etc. and will exactly tell you which stream is good for you.
