Whether placements is good or bad, does not matter.
What matters is the knowledge you get.
Wherever you get placed, get experience and with that knowledge you can apply to the company or industry of your choice and you would be easily absorbed.
Secondly, IITM, is a well known Institute, and hence fees would be higher.
At the moment, you could opt for scholarships. At the sametime, you could get into a small job, so that you can fend your pocket money.
Only thing I can say is that, to achieve something, sometimes a higher price needs to be paid.
Dont think much at this moment.
Carry on with your studies.
With experience and knowledge backed with a good Institute things will ease down soon.
