Its good to hear that you have been planning to make a career in the Banking Field. Its one of the growing field with the wide range of career options. Banking is a top career option in the commerce field.
In order to make a career in Banking Sector you have an two options either in Private and Public Sector. You need to select which sector you wish to make a career.
To be eligible for the Banking Exams in any sector you need to have completed your Graduation Degree from any Stream. After completing the Graduation Degree than only you get eligible to appear for the Bank Exams for any post i.e Clerk or PO.
If you wish to make a career in the Public Banking Sector, you can make a career either in the SBI Banks or in the rest 21 Government Banks. SBI conducts there own exam for Clerk and PO posts whereas for other banks one needs to give an IBPS exam for Clerk or PO. The eligibility is as follows-
1. A candidate who have completed a Graduation from any stream from a recognised university or who is in the last year of the Graduation and waiting for the result can apply for the Bank exams.
2. Nationality - Indian.
3. Age - 20-30 years; 5 years relaxation for SC/ST , 3 years for OBC and 10 years for Disabled .
If you are willing to make a career in the Private Banking Sector than you need to have completed a graduation degree from any stream from a recognised universit. You should be less than 25 years of age and should have 55% of marks minimum.
While there is no percentage criteria for the Government Bank exams.
I would suggest you to go for the Bank PO exams.
