I am a graduate and have no idea which career to opt for or what will suit me best

I don't find any of the local jobs good enough for me. Neither the salary nor the work is satisfying. Since I've done plain graduation I don't know what type of job I'm best suited for.

Great! You have chosen wisely. I like to talk to people who are different and you are certainly different. Writing is a career with a difference. Initially you may not collect a handsome allowance or so, but in due course, if you stick to the field, you shall see a galore of appreciation and other incentivesin the way of royalty etc, which shall be huge.

Before jumping into the bandwagon, you should know yourself by taking any psychometric assessment tools to know your personality, aptitude, attitude and skill sets. Once known, you can correct your pit falls and you can polish your skills relevant to the chosen career path.

Writers and authors develop written contents for ads, books, magazines, movies and even can write their own articles and books. They can work anywhere including their home. Proficiency with computers, word processing, typing, language skills, knowledge of journalism etc will be an added advantage.

Hope this answers your query.
Good luck

You just finished a course which is called graduation. Nice job. As you already know, in todays scenario, graduation is such a qualification which is considered as basic qualification for further studies. Equivalent to 10th 10 years back. So getting a job itself will be difficult, let alone handsome salary. Make sure that you study and work further for a better career.

You can go for a temporary job in your graduate stream if you want experience and study further higher courses along with your studies. There are evening colleges available in almost all cities. you shall be benefitted with salary as well as experience along with higher degree. Otherwise you can go for further higher study. But mind you, even with higher degree, initial salary will be less because there are lots of competition out there.

Now to choose your career. Undergo a psychometric assessment test to know the potential you possess and your aptitude and attitude. Then you can choose your career as per the result.

Good luck.

Mostly when one selects a career that one is not very sure of, this is the major issue that one faces.

It would be good if you could first explore
  • what are your strengths???
  • What Interests you???
  • What are your hobbies???
  • Do you wish to pursue your hobby as your career???
  • What kind of job are you looking out for???
  • What kind of lifestyle are you looking out for???
  • Where do you see yourself 5 years from now???

Once you are able;e to explore the above questions, you would be clear what is your goal and then can decide how to achieve them in future.

Sometimes hobby like Painting, creativity, designing, computers, etc may also be taken as a profession. Eg, someone interested in troubleshooting, could look out for computer related courses like MCA, web designing, knowledge on hardware and software and its application.

Please note that if you choose a profession that you are good at and you are interested at, you would be enjoying your job. And once you enjoy your job, you will perform at your best and hence money will automatically follow.

Also explore freelancing opportunities, like business outsourcing, computer graphics and designing, hardware and software application, retail industry, health business and many more.

If you are unable to explore your opportunities, instead of taking a chance, it would be good if you could visit a counselor and undergo an Aptitude tests, which will clearly show fields you are capable of pursuing in the future. It will help you in making a right choice.
Or if you have thought about a career, then explore its opportunities and strengths required to excel in the field with a counselor.

Wish you good luck........
