What do you want to pursue in future as a career ? Let me help you understand that.If you are studying Maths as a subject this means you are from science stream of 12th std. You can pursue clinical psychology and become a psychiatrist. For this you will have to give entrance exam like CPMT , and once you clear that you can study medicine and further take neuro sciences as specialization.

Studying psychology as one of the subjects in 12th can help you become a psychologist or a psychotherapist and you can work as a counselor.

The qualities which a psychiatrist must posses are as follows-

- An effective listener

A psychiatrist should possess the qualities of an excellent listener. He should be able to listen to the client with complete concentration and focus with out getting distracted by any kind ofdisturbance. This will give the confidence to the person to open up completely , with out any hesitation.

- Self awareness

He should be aware about his strengths while attending the client and use them to best of their capacity.

- Approachable

He should be approachable to all age groups. The expression and the body language should be very easy going and inviting , so that any body can open up in front of them with out any hesitation.

- Educated

He should be well educated , so that can use a particular way of treating the client according to his or her requirement.

- Ethics

He should follow the ethics of the field and should be honest enough to diagnose the problems to best of his abilities and help the clients.

- Effective communication

Should possess the quality of effective communication, so that any body can feel comfortable with them. Right communication helps unfold the mistry behind the problem.

- Versatility

They should be able to handle people and problems of any age group with ease. Restricting to only adults or to only students is not good. Every sector and age group of people have problems.

- Confident

They should be confident of handling any kind of problem and the person. Some times you have to be little tough with some clients when things do not move according to their suggestions. So during such situations both type of communication is required with full confidence. Some time tough and some time soft.

ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!
