Dear student,

must appreciate and congratulate you for your wisdom at this age which signifies a full bright future go ahead----------------I am sure that you are a self motivated person so no need to contact many men many thoughts--avoid it utmost and ask yourself before doing anything.

I am happy and quite comfortable with the query you posted in detailed manner so you are advised up to the certian extent to follow the certain points which should be helpful for your career:
1. Fundamental Screening: You are at right stage to do this exercise, whatever you have subjects you read them with your soul interest and never develop any truncated thought that I am destined to be a doctor and scientist so i need only a combination of sciences a rest are optional it is not like that. Give the justified effort to understand all the subjects without any biased nature.
2. Communication skill; develop the communication skill to understand all the subjects which require better language -written and spoken both, grasping power-meditate as much as possible, analytical mind-try to postulate your own translational skill which will transmit the complex modules to your mind in the simplest route. That is how your conversion skill will make you brilliant in simple look and you will surprise others.
3. Once you are done with your schooling following the same path undoubtedly your result card will speak your strength which will come through the filtration which is a suitability based approach. Hope this approach will not disturb you.

4. As far as the medical profession in defence is concerned rather you explore the Armed Force Medical College will emphasize everything. Many other entrance tests for civilians like CBSC conducts CPM, state govt conducts state level of entrance test to give you admission in MBBS or something related. Enquire about it and initiate in structured manner so not ask many people just seek the help for gateways which is quite genuine though your family support is unavoidable. Move step to step and then strike the ball from the mid of your bat that is your effort with full length skill of preperation.

Good luck !

Dear aspirant

Thank you very much for approaching experts at CareerGuide. I definitely admire and salute your notion to serve the country. While students are admired towards the corporate world it is appreciating to see there are some students with patriotism too. You can definitely become a Doctor and serve the nation, especially for military people and there is a route which you can also follow.

First of all i want you to be serious with your medical profession and for this reason you should evaluate yourself if you are apt to work in this profession. For this you can take the psychometric test that is available on this website. Taking this test you will know you better and also understand if medical profession matches your personality. If it matches, please go for it.

These are the things you can do to achieve your medical ambition and also serve the nation.
1. Study PCB at 12th standard.
2. After 12th class, try for an admission at Armed forces medical college. Completing your MBBS from there you can serve the army hospital where the patients will be exclusively for the army men and their families.

I will explain in brief now.
1. You should compulsorily study Maths up to 10th standard.
2. Study PCB groupat 11th and 12th class that is Physics, Chemistry and Biology. You should also ensure that the aggregate of these three science subjects is a minimum 60% and no individual subject score should be less than 50%.
3. Study English at 11th and 12th class and should definitely score 50% in 12th class English examination.
4. Should be strictly 17 years and above while joining the medical school and cannot be even 16 years 11 months too.
5. Should be unmarried and also should not plan to get married until you complete MBBS.

If you can abide by each of the above rule, you can very well apply for an MBBS admission at Armed forces medical college. This college is in Pune, Maharashtra. They run entrance test annually across 28 centres in India and you should appear and pass the test with a minimum 60%.

If you get admission for an MBBS seat, you get free education, free boarding (hostel) and as well as free mess fees through out the completion of the degree. They have 130 seats in total every year of which 105 are for boys and 25 are for girls. Once you complete the degree, you are required to serve the army hospital for seven years. You and your parent/ guardian will sign the agreement as soon as you start your degree in first year that after completing degree you will work for them for 7 years. This is a very good opportunity that you can make use of.

Please write back if you require further help. All the best.

Dear friend, many thanks for your question. I really appreaciate that a studnt of 10 standard (now you are in 11th standard) is so serious about the career and the nation. That to a space and military, your combination is excellent and you can achieve your dream job by meticulously planning your career.
I belive that you must have studies mathematics till 10th standard, and in 12th standard you have to study the physics, chemistry and biology. If possible you may also take maths along with PCB, then you will great opportunities in future, specially for your space job.

During 12th standard, please make commitment to yourself that you have to pass the medical entrance test conducted by Armed Forced Medical College (AFMC), Pune. You have to also score agrregate 60% marks in 12th standard and minimum 50% marks in all subjects. The dream of becoming doctor in military will be fulfilled by getting admission in AFMC. You should also go for post graduation after MBBS in the discipline of your interest. This will help you in your career to progress and also in profession to excel.

Another thing that you heard about military job. Here you have work like other persons, round the year. This is not true that one has to serve in military for three months in a year. After joing military, your desiganation will be captain, major, colonel and the rank will also increase as your experience increase.
Now you also wish to work as spece scientist or space doctor. For this you have to work in governmental organization, such as Indian Spce Research Organization or NASA (National Aerrnautics and Space Administration), USA. Here you have join as scientist, who can work on human health, human physiologocal aspects in space. There could be many more sub disciplines which suits your expertise and specialization. For joining space job, the qualification of a doctor is not important, here (ISRO, NASA) you may also join after doing higher studies in other science subjects.
Now the main thing is that you have to be determined and dedicated to your studies to fulfill your dreams. you should discuss with your teachers, seniors (who have settled well) and parents. Finally we are always with you to guide through CareerGuide. Please do not listen to those people whoch told you that doctors in army work for three months only.
Hope I have answered your quesry.
With all my best wishes,
Good Luck.

Dear Aspirant,

Scientist, Medical and Military? Don't you feel these field are apart from each other.

Definitely you can combine Medical and Military by trying to get admission into Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), where you can serve the nation as well as become a Doctor. After retiring from Army, as a Doctor you can definitely join hospitals as Visiting Specialists.

To be best sure of what suits you for your career, I would suggest you to undergo an online psychometric test from CareerGuide which will help you understand yourself in respect of your strengths, weaknesses, emotional quotient, etc. and will exactly tell you which career is ideal for you.
You can then call counsellors to discuss.

Best wishes!
