The information provided by the counsellor is of great help. Is m.phil a good option ? What ever I find it is distance course. Only if I could be helped as to which institute can help me the best. ??
Hello,
Thanks for approaching careerguide.com . As per your query, you need a organizational psychology course to be certified as a organizational psychologist. Getting certified as a psychologist means having expertise in all the areas of general psychology where as getting certified in organizational behavior / psychology means specializing in organizational psychologywith general psychology as background.
First of all, you need a masters in psychology along a good career record. You can opt for specialization in the second year, as many offer so. Else if, you have bachelors / masters in general psychology then you can opt for these courses:
MS in Applied Psychology , ( With clinical/ Industrial practicum ) Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
Masters degree in Organisational psychology, Delhi University.
MA in Applied Psychology, Amity institute of Psychology and allied sciences.
There are also courses in organisational psychology/ behavior offered by management institutes like Indian institute of management development, Nagpur , Indian institute of management, Bangalore, etc. for students from management background. Students who opt for MBA / PGP can go for specialization in their second year. You need to detail bit more about your career so far and accordingly we can suggest better.
Hope this helps.

Hi There,
M.Phil is a good option, only if you wish to get into Research and wish to continue as a counselor but also maintain the reserach background.
Just to avoid certificate or distance learning courses, engaging in an M.Phil course is not the right option. Since M.Phil would be a long way to go, and if Research is not your fortee, then you can be stuck on to it too.
If you have done your Graduation in Psychology, then opting for an M.Sc or an MA in Industrial psychology is a good option.
Other than that, you could opt for a MBA in Industrial relations or Organization Behavior Check for TISS, MumbaiNIPM. http://www.nipm.inXLRI. http://www.xlri.ac.in/
Hope this helps.Wish you good luck...
As rightly mentioned by Career Expert, Ms. Meghna, MPhil is research oriented course. If you want to practice as Organizational Psychologist in corporate then MA/MSc/MBA course would be beneficial.
You should pursue practice oriented course. Choose a course that offers internships and dissertation as part of the course curriculum.
In addition to masters course, you may pursue certificate or diploma courses (psychometric assessment, training and development, certificate course in specific psychometric test, SAP etc.) as per your need.
Best Wishes,Apurva kumar, PhD
