Entrance Exam Mode:

For doing Ph.D. in commerce, one need to secure minimum 55% marks in M.Com., M.Phil, MBA, MIB, MHROD, MFC, MBA (IB) or MBA (HRD) (these requirements are specified by University of Delhi and this may differ for any other university. You can check this on the website of the University in which you are seeking admission for Ph.D.). The SC, ST, OBC and PH candidates can have 5% relaxation in minimum marks required for eligibility. The notification gets published on the website of the concerned University. The shortlisted candidates through entrance exam will be called for personal interview. Finally, on your performance, you will get admission for the concerned Ph.D. course.

Direct Admission Mode:

(As stated by University of Delhi and for other universities you can see such requirements on the website of that concerned university) The candidates of the following categories will be exempted from written entrance exam and they can directly appear in the personal interview. The Faculty members with 2 years of service in the concerned department of the university or in constituent colleges of the university. The candidates having cleared the national level exam like CSIR, UGC-NET-JRF, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE or any equivalent fellowship at the national level. The candidates who have been offered lectureship in the CSIR/UGC-NET. The candidates having their master degree with minimum 2-year research experience in a reputed institution.
