Hello Rohit,
Interesting question asked. Please note these are all mind games. The more you are able to control it, the more you are relaxed.
It sounds easier said than done. Please note a little anxiety is needed for you to score well. Other than this, stop continuous discussions of exams, syllabus and how much you have prepared. Find time to divert into relaxing activities like taking a walk, cycling, reading a book etc. Try avoiding your school friends and even if you meet them no discussion on syllabus and exams.
Keep fixed time for revisions. Do not try to learn the portion you have skipped. Revise what you have prepared for and stop thinking of left portion. One way of doing this is not leaving any part of the portion you have studied. If you skip any part then obviously you will worry and then try to focus on left part, which in turn will disturb your entire preparation.
Try and relax but not by being on whatsapp because that would mean engaging in endless talks and will not let you get back to studies.
No late night studies. Try not being lonely and with books all the time.
Be confident of your preparations. Make future planning.
At the end do not cheat yourself.
Wish you good luck...
Hi Rohit,
Exam stress is something, which everyone faces. Regardless of the age of the person taking the exam. Stress from the exam is mental. While the difference between how students and adults face stress is their coping mechanism, how to deal with anxiety and negative thoughts that root out of stress particularly in an exam situation. Few signs that a student is going through stress are as follow
While the causes of such a situation may arise in the first place may be due to
-> Past performance of exams
-> How friends/other students are doing
-> The negative consequence of failure
Stress can be triggered from multiple sources and it is important to first understand that how stress can affect us
1.Frequently suffering from a headache
2.Sweating and shivering in palm and legs
3.Crying and feel sad when you are alone
4.In the late night studies, getting body pains and feeling tired
5.Heartbeat increases, panic attack
6.Cold and flu
7.Unable to recollect correct answers
8.Unable to sleep at time of exam
9.In a confusion to write the correct answer
10.Low confidence to secure good rank in the exam
Now all these signs shouldn't be ignored that result in incumbent getting stressed on the exam.
The best way to fight stress before exam or at time of exam is
Some things that you should or rather all students should keep in mind as to relax and not get burdened by stress
1. Practice on breathing exercise2. Remember and that exam is just a paper and it is ok to be alert as exam approached.3. Eat a healthy meal and also take proper sleep and rest.6. Talk to people around you so as to share and not to feel overwhelmed and lonely.
I hope you will be abe to take few points from above and implement in your daily routine.
Thank you once again for sharing your concerns and helping others to understand how stress impact a student and what al things should be kept in mind to ensure that stress can be taken care of.
