Hi Vikas,

Yes in Germany there is only MS course available. MTech and MS, both the courses are very different from each other. MTech is a course to train student in a particular stream within an engineering discipline for example, Machine Design in Mechanical Engineering. It provides the knowledge for working in an industry as well as for doing some amount of research. MS is a research oriented course after that a student can pursue career in research industry or academia, this is the main reason that most of the students go for PhD after doing MS. MTech is a 2 year course, where as MS may go beyond 2 years.

It is the student’s choice and interest that will decide which course to pursue. Companies in campus placement usually prefer MTech students. Many companies who take up students for R&D work doesn't differentiate between MTech and MS students.
