What are the career opportunities in a hindi daily newspaper ????

I am an mba fresher. Accomplished my mba with finance and human resource management . I have got selected in an interview of a hindi daily newspaper as H R of the organization. Please tell me the career oportunities in the corresonding field in future?

4. Recruitment of digital media person and experts and technicians


5. Recruitment of other staff


6. Recruitment of people involved in back end work for journalists


7. Recruitment of people involved in work like printing, distribution, circulation


8. Recruitment of people in the editorial department


9. Training and development of the current staff and in coming staff members


10. Payroll, PF, Gratuity, Retirement, Termination, Transfer, etc. of employees




Looking at the above work I hope you must have come to understand the very sector specific work you will be involved into.

I see from your query that you are being selected in a Hindi daily newspaper. Working for this sector as a HR professional is also equally exciting just as in other industries. As a Hr professional in this sector, you will have the following opportunities to do but you may be selected in each division one after the other.

1. Resume sourcer: This may be your initial assignment as soon as you join the office as a HR. You will first source for resumes on job portals, that matches the requirements in vacancy postings. You have to find suitable resumes for the vacancies and contact the persons individually by both phone and email. You should also interact with the candidates and invite them for an interview, fix them interview dates and correspond with them accordingly. Being working in a Hindi newspaper office, you will find suitable vendors, journalist, writers and editors.

2. Job poster: This requires in-depth knowledge about job posting, design and requirements. You should understand what sort of qualifications, experience are required for the post and accordingly you should frame the job description write-up. Similarly you will know how to frame job description for a writer, editor or journalist post.

3. Selection and recruitment: This is the third sector that you might get into. Once the suitable candidates are identified and called in for an interview, you should be handling the interview procedure by procedure. If the interview involves questioning on some technical subjects, then you should also be confident in posting such technical questions and understanding the answers. Once the interview is handled, you should write report on the candidates performance and accordingly decide to select a candidate.

4. Training and development: This division involves HR professionals to put the employees on the relevant training and development for upgrading their skills. For example, if you are putting a bunch of writers for training, then you should recommend them for the concerned writing and communications training program. You should also coordinate with the managers and the trainers to fix up a training date and obtain consent from the number of employees attending the training and managing the attendance sheet.

5. Pay roll: You will also be involved in managing the pay roll for every employee on the monthly basis. You will monitor the attendance of each employees and accordingly you will offer their monthly pay.

6. Performance appraisal: This includes coordinating with the concerned managers and obtaining their performance reports. Based on this HR professionals will decide on how much the pay should be increased based on the performance reports.

7. Entry and exit management: You will also be responsible for entry and exit management of employees. Entry management means you will go through the documents submitted by employees and for exit management you will be responsible for monitoring the employees records, doing the exit interview, clearing pending pay, gratuity, pension funds and many more.
