As everyone knows that nowadays Statistics has been one of the demanding field and many students have been giving a thought to make a career in this field.

Statistics means interpreting the data of numbers into Graphs.Its the branch of Mathematics which deals with the collection,analysis,interpretation and presentation of masses of numerical data.

Statistician make use of various methods like questionnaires,surveys and various tests in a wide range of disciplines like education,IT,Medical,Pharmacy,Economics,Physics etc.

A qualified statistician will find the job opportunities in public sector organistations,financial institutions etc.One can apply to Indian Statistical Services. One can also make their career in Private companies like HP,TCS,Accenture,HDFC,RBI,Genpact,GE Capital,Cognizant,HSBC,HP etc.

Some of the sectors where a statistician can work are Business Statistics,Medical Statistics,Sports Statistics,Surveys Statistics,Scientific Research Statistics,Economics Statistics,Pharmacy
Statistics,Education Statistics,Bio-statistician etc.There are wide range of job opportunities for the statistician in public sector as well as private sector.The typical salary of the Statistician - a fresher with degree in Statistics gets a package between Rs.1,00,000-2,00,000 yearly. While people holding the Master or PhD in Statistical Analyst,Statistician,Econometrician etc gets the salary ranging from
Rs.3,00,000- 7,00,000 yearly. While there is a rise in the salary from time to time depending on your skills and abilities one can earn an package till 10,00,00 every year.

While if you are employed in any college or university the salary receive as per the universities and government norms while one can also get an extra income by outside consulting,writing and research.

So it all depends on you where you wish to make your career and depending on that you will get the salary package and there will be growth in your salary packages from time to time.
