Dear aspirant

I am glad you approached counsellors at Mera career guide and thank you very much for that. PCM is an interesting route and in fact this is the only route that gives as many career options as possible to a person. I understand you are a girl and are looking for a career suitable to you. But my dear please understand that in the present world girls are entering in every career and it is not that a career is suited to only one particular gender. So please remove the thought from your mind that girls can be suitable for only certain careers and take the courage to approach all career routes that interest you. Feel free to explore.

You have mentioned that you dont want medicine and engineering. So i see you have ruled out these options and wanted to explore some where else. Good. I have some suggestions for you related to medicine careers but i am not mentioning on the MBBS. See if any of this interests you.
1. BHBS- Lots of students dont enter this route and instead concentrate on only MBBS. This degree is known as Bachelor of homeopathy and surgery. Entering this route of medicine is relatively easy compared to MBBS. You may choose to apply for this if you like.
2. BABS- Bachelor of Ayurveda and surgery. This is another stream of medicine. You will learn the ancient herbs and ayurvedic principles in medicine. The good thing is studying either BHBS/ BABS will still give you a Dr title.
3. BDS - If you like to be a dentist you can choose this. This is not again like the regular MBBS and in this you will only learn and practice anatomy of jaw, mouth and teeth.
4. Physiotherapy- You can choose to study Bachelor of Physiotherapy and this is a four year course. Completing this you are qualified to work in a hospital as a physiotherapist.
5. Pharmacy - You can certainly choose to study a Bachelor of pharmacy (BPharm) degree and this is a four year degree. Completing this degree you can work in hospitals, pharmacy, private dispensaries and pharmaceutical companies as a Pharmacist. You have high scope in working at their research development department in inventing and manufacturing medicines.
6. Biotechnology -Finally you can choose to study BTech Biotechnology degree. I have counselled lots of students who tend to think Btech biotech is more like an engineering degree. But the truth is not that. You wont have to study any engineering principles in this Btech biotech. You will study Maths in years one and as you have studied maths at 12th it will be very easy for you to pass. It is an engineering discipline but you will purely study biology in an advanced level in this degree. this degree will be highly suitable for both genders but girls prefer to opt this mostly compared to boys as boys tend to choose other branches of engineering like mechanical, IT, Computer science and electronics. I advice you to not consider this as a different engineering principle and ignore this degree as this is the only degree that will give you indepth biology aspects to learn from compared to any other Bsc degrees.

All the best.
