Mechanical Engineering has been the top most branch while recruitments go in campuses. There is much more to be done after mechanical engineering degree.
In the industry, what matters is the type of engineering you have studied and whether you can convert it into an employable skill for the organisation. Remember that the industry wants practical engineering and not bookish engineering.
After degree of engineering, you can do a job where freshers are required. Salary may not be much, but building experience is also important. Upload you resume on job portals, ask your friends and relatives, etc.
You can study more indepth knowledge, do think for ME / MTech from a good college.
You can also do certifications like Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, etc.
