Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), formerly Nagpur University, is a public state university located in Nagpur, Maharashtra. It is one of India’s oldest universities, as well as the second oldest in Maharashtra. It is named after Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj, a spiritual leader, orator, and musician from Vidarbha. The university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities and the Association of Commonwealth Universities. The university was founded in 1923 as Nagpur University. It was renamed Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University in 2020. The university has a sprawling campus of 373 acres. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Education, Engineering, and Technology. The university also has a number of constituent and affiliated colleges. RTMNU is a popular university with over 550,000 students enrolled.

2. The cut-offs for postgraduate courses are usually higher than the cut-offs for undergraduate courses. For example, the cut-off for MA English in 2023 was 60% for General Category and 55% for SC/ST Category. The cut-off for M.Com was 65% for General Category and 60% for SC/ST Category. The cut-off for MBA was 70% for General Category and 65% for SC/ST Category.

3. The cut-offs for professional courses, such as engineering and law, are usually the highest. For example, the cut-off for B.E. Civil Engineering in 2023 was 75% for General Category and 70% for SC/ST Category. The cut-off for B.Tech. Computer Science was 80% for General Category and 75% for SC/ST Category. The cut-off for LLB was 70% for General Category and 65% for SC/ST Category.

University Results

2. Results are available for all courses, including UG, PG and Professional courses. Results are also available for regular and semester exams.

3. The re-evaluation fee is Rs. 500 per subject and the re-examination fee is R. 1000 per subject. Upgrade and revision exams will take place in September 2023.

1. Nagpur University’s track record for placement is progressively getting better. The university’s placement division placed only 100 students in 2020.
