What is XAT?

XAT is an abbreviation for Xavier Aptitude Test. It is the largest MBA entrance exam after CAT. Every year more than 1 lakh candidates appear for the exam to get into MBA Programs in the field of engineering, commerce, science, and law. XAT Exam 2023 date is out. The exam will be held on 8th January 2023. The exam will be conducted for 3 hours and 10 minutes. What is the formation of the XAT 2023 exam?

The XAT exam is held online. The XAT Exam Pattern has various changes as compared to the previous pattern which is described below-

1. The time allotted for the exam is 3 hours and 10 minutes.
2. There are 5 sections in the XAT pattern that include Verbal & Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, General Knowledge, and Essay Writing.
3. The total number of questions is 101 with 100 MCQs and 1 essay question.

* 26 MCQs for Verbal and Logical Ability

* 21 MCQs for Decision Making

* 28 MCQs for Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation

* 25 MCQs for General Knowledge

* 1 Question for Essay Writing

4. The overall marking scheme is 1 mark for a correct attempt while a penalty of 0.25 marks for an incorrect attempt. Further, candidates can leave up to 8 questions unattempted but any questions above the limit would attract a penalty of 0.1 marks each.
5. The scores for the first 3 sections will be taken for percentile calculations.

When will XAT 2023 exam be conducted?

Last year XAT answer key was released on January 3, 2022, within a day of conducting the XAT exam on Jan 2. You can check your Answer Keys on XAT’s official website. Only those candidates who have appeared in XAT 2023 can view and download both the Official XAT Answer Key as well as their Individual Responses to XAT Questions.
