Introduction
The SAT ( Scholastic Aptitude Test ) and IELTS ( The International English Language Test ) are standardized tests designed for students who want to complete their higher education abroad.
SAT is an entrance test used by most colleges around the world to select eligible students. The SAT exam consists of two sections – Mathematics, Evidence-based reading and writing, and an optional Essay section. These sections are further divided into two more sections. The Mathematics section is divided into the No Calculator Section and the Calculator Section. The Evidence-based reading and writing section is divided into the Reading section and the Writing & Language section.
The score range of SAT is 400-1600, with an average of 1060. While some colleges might ask for SAT Subject Tests but only a few Universities ask for them, most Universities only require the SAT score in a particular range.
IELTS is an exam designed to test the English proficiency of students wanting to study abroad, who come from non-English speaking countries. It has 4 sections – Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking. The sections are scored on a band of 9 points, with 9 being the highest and 0 being the lowest.
These tests are not like the tests we have in India, where the difficulty level of the questions is extreme. Instead, these test the individual on how strong their basic is. There are a lot of easy questions that need to be answered in a short time, which makes practicing for these tests a little peculiar and challenging.
