Fashion industry is a glamourous industry with lucrative jobs on offer. Understand this industry produces fashion products, i.e. fashion clothes and designer clothes that requires 'attracting' people to buy their products. Attracting a person requires some thing ideal and nice about the product. Only being 'creative' can bring that ideal, nice and different things in your products. Fashion industry produces a variety of clothing products ranging from Sari, lehenga, skirts, kurta and many more. Almost every one creates all these products but its you, as a fashion designer needs to define what is special about your product. For example, you should make the usual products look different. To be more clear, take sari for an example. You should have seen how sari were designed a few years back. They were usually plain and later they designed with some flower designs. Then came the changing patters of fabric ranging from cotton, silk to satin. And in the late 19th century the introduction of Zari work came into designing practice. All these changes in sari came up with only some innovation and creativity behind the designers. And lately sari has evolved with lot of creativity. One very good example will be the designer Sabyasachi works. This designer marked his niche into sari designing sector by introducing a lot of creative elements in his sari works. This alone made him very popular in the designing industry and gave him a lot of recognition and awards. This example could well explain how creativity is important in designing.

One more example is the work of designer Ritu Kumar. While designers were concentrating on introducing variety of accessories on their clothing, this designer concentrated on using various fabrics and especially bringing back the traditional fabric in present concepts.

Thus, being creative is nothing but either introducing new concepts or making the old stuff look different and yes, fashion designing definitely needs it.
