Dear aspirant
Welcome to meracareerguide
We are more than happy to guide you through to a perfect career.

Great!. Fashion designing is a good career. Psychology also is. Please do not get confused. They both are equally lucrative careers. Mind you, Career is life style, self satisfaction and self actualization. It is not just a job. Passion comes first and salary and other incentives second.

For any career, understand self is very important. Make sure to take any psychometric assessments to know your personality, attitude, aptitude and skill sets. Once you know yourself, it will be easy to polish your skills to suit to your career and correct the pitfalls. Also you can find your right career path and stream.

Fashion designing is a creative field and if you have creativity and if you can convince others that you have creativity, then you can excel in that field even with Indian fashion designing courses. Indian Institute of Fashion Technology is a premium institution whose degree is counted at par with so many international degrees.

Hope this answers your query.
Good luck

Thank you for choosing Meracareerguide and contacting us today. I am happy to help with your question today. I am gald for you to have approached counsellors here to seek career guidance. Before I let go on, I would like to suggest a Psychometric test that is available on this website. Could you please spare some time and do this psychometric tests? It will help you to analyse your strengths and abilities and you can choose your career accordingly.

i see you are confused between Psychology and Fashion designing. Both have lucrative jobs available in the market but the only difference is fashion designing is more glamours and glowing job compared to Psychology job. May be you are attracted only for this glowing job? Fashion designing requires genuine interest and passion for designing clothes. I have seen lots of students, especially girls, who take fashion designing courses for fun and granted and have struggled fixing up their career. It is a nice and fantastic profession taht could offer you name and fame but it requires your sincerity and seriousness in your job, just as any other job requires. If you want to be a fashion designer, you can very well study in India ad you tend to know the indian roots with respect to fabric, accessory and design. If you study abroad, you may not know how fashion designing is perceived in your home country, India. Not all universities offer modules concentrating on Indian culture. But if you have a flair taste for western fashion rather than Indian fashion, you can certainly give a try to study abroad. Remember your work and expertise will also be developed on western designs rather than letting you work for Indian designs especially liek the traditional works. Studying fashion designing at an Undergraduate level in India is more recommendable for Indians rather studying abroad at under graduate level. You may certainly go abroad for youir masters course, if you wnat to specialise in one particular element and there is no harm with it. Studying in India will be of a great help to work and as well develop your expertise on Indian land. You can check out National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). They have world renowned courses in your field and try studying here and then you can go for a MA abroad in future.

Please dont forget to take the psychometric assessment. Good luck.
