Probably, you entered the engineering field with a good percentage in PCM, and parental pressure to do either Engg or medicine.
Do you really enjoy engineering? Would you like to work for a few years? A MBA appears to be the logical next step. But it is also possible to change streams to something you enjoy doing, and have a natural flair for?
I would advise you to take an assessment test first, to discover your strengths. Discuss it with a counsellor, and then decide.
Dear Aspirant,
Looking at your percentages, it indicates that you have down turn grade mark. May I know the reason for this decreasing percentage graph? I think you have not chosen the Science stream with due thinking and care. Just on the basis of your 10th std percentage, it appears that you have chosen Science stream.
Are you really made for engineering stream? Why have you thought about engineering? I feel, you are not suitable for engineering.
I would suggest that instead of choosing a single course, please take the Ideal Career Test from CareerGuide.com. This is a psychometric test which will judge your real aptitude, interests, likings, innate abilities and skills. Knowing all these and then taking a decision based on that will be the best way.
MBA and Engineering are not to be compared. I would suggest you to hunt for a job immediately based on your engineering. Wor for some years and then go for MBA later after five years.
Best wishes
Hello Anshu,
This giving up attitude will not help you in anyways. Ofcourse being practical is a must. Please note for admission to MBA one of the criteria is the percentage. So just one criteria does not close doors for you. If you are determined towards management, work hard for the entrance exam followed by group discussion and personal interview.
But as suggested by the 2 counselors above, first be ultimately sure management is what you wish to pursue. Just to achieve a higher salary pursuing management is incorrect.
Please note, management graduates from reputed institutes too have faced failure because they just jumped into the course. So think over and develop skills required to lead as a manager.
Wish you good luck...
In order to post replies to the question: "I have 88% in my 10th 69 in 12th and 56% in btech I am not able to decide whether engineering field will be good or I should go for mba as I know i will not get good college in mba?"
