Hey Dear,
It is really good if you have thoroughly memorized and learnt from your NCERT books as it forms the basis of many entrance exams be it medical or even for that matter engineering.
Dear student, NCERT books can bne considered as base books for the test, yes they do help to a great extent but solely depending on them , perhaps may not be a good idea. there are various other competitive exam preparation books available in the market , just carry out a small survey and you may easily make out which one is more suitable, for example H C Verma for Physics and O P Tondon for Chemistry etc. and along with that you need to keep an eye on renowned institutions for admissions, like - AIIMS, New Delhi,........
Hi Rahim,
The examination content for any competitive exam should as per the syllabus followed by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the body which prescribes NCERT books in schools. It is quite difficult to clear an entrance exam, as prestigious as AIIMS by only studying NCERT books, because you'll not be able to develop a deep insight and proper understanding of any given topic. It is therefore, advised to study only the relevant topics in reference books in detail for focussed preparation of a competitive exam. A review of the last three years entrance examination papers will also provide you with a clear picture about the kind of questions asked and the level of exam. You can then accordingly choose the books to study from.
Hope this helps.
