Earlier a student of 12th was eligible for the Bank exams for the post of clerk in Nationalized Banks.  But, with the changes in the Banking field that has taken in the few decades has also made to make changes in the eligibility criteria of the exams.  Due to the rapid growth an expansion in the Banking field a lot of scope is there in the field of Banking.  Banking career is one of the settled and safe careers in the Government sector.  Students have an opportunity to make a career in the either private banking sector or Nationalized Banking sector.  The recruitments in the private banking sector is done by the respective banks from time to time through the screening exam conducted by the individual banks.  In Nationalized Banks the recruitment is done through the institute of banking personal selection which is also known as IBPS.  The IBPS conduct the exam for various posts in the banks like clerk, PO, Specialist Officer.  The student who wish to make a career in the SBI bank.  Conducts the separate exam for the posts in the SBI.  To be eligible for the government banks exam a student should be a graduate from any of the faculty that is Arts, Commerce or Science except fine Arts.  There is no percentage requirement to apply for the IBPS PO and clerk exams.  Usually, a student should have a score of 50% marks in their graduation so that they could be selected for the posts from the academic point of view.  For the specialist officer posts like Agriculture Officer, IT Officer, Human Resource Officer etc. for these posts a student should have the respective qualifications in particular field for the post which they wish to apply.
