Respected Experts, What Should I Do Join Mnc's (Infosys others after experience) or prepare for Psu's ? I am looking for a long term career.

I am in final year of my engineering and I am Selected In Infosys.But i am confused about my career b/w 2 options that after b.e. should i prepare for public sector exams or join infosys.I wil select one of these options and then i will not change my decision until I succeed in my career. Plz Advise

Hi Adarsh,
MNCs or PSUs, both are long term career. Let's look at them one by one.
With MNCs - you get a career, which is fast moving, you can get good salary, easily change job depending upon job market, change place of work. Disadvantages: you may not have the same respect in society(in tier 2 cities) as Govt. employees get. you may not have a dependable retirement package. you may not get a work-life balance due to high pressure on job.


With PSUs - you get a career which is more routined, you get good salary, difficult to change jobs not much affected by job market in general. disadvantages: difficult to get the job. may have to spend long time in preparation. difficult to climb up the ladder with timed promotions and slow moving career. May have to be a victim of corruption and may have to deal with seniors who are corrupt.
Both the options have positives and negatives. I have listed down the ones, I have seen. You can find out more. First try to find out, what you love to do. And then what you do not want to do in general. how is your society. how loyal are you to the society. Do you want to break even and pursue dreams, sacrificing your personal desires when needed. etc. etc.
Given all these points, even if you give score on each point in the two sections above, you should be able to take your call and believe me, you would never repent.
