To begin with - No. I agree the job scenario in Architecture has not been tremendous like the IT sector, but the scope seems to be huge. This is in regard to the fact that we are not producing as many architects as we need in our country. Also, the role of an architect is also expanding.

The opportunities for making a successful career as an architect are vast. And especially at the present day and world when the space is getting reduced everyday the service of an Architect is most sought after. High rise structures are increasingly on demand, and along with that the demand of sustainable structure is also increasing. From the initial stage of landscape designing to interior designing the job of an architect has become very important.Again with added stress on environmental planning by corporate houses, government and individuals too the service of a good architect has become crucial to any structural planning.

Although getting the first break as an architect is tough in this field when a fresh graduate starts working with reputed firms as an apprentice or with reputed architects they can easily make their impressions. Then it helps to improve the resume of a fresher and then getting other projects is not much difficult.

With smaller cities and towns opting for high-rise structures the scope of Architecture study is ever increasing. So getting independent projects is not much tough for a qualified architect.

Hi,

Greeting's for the day!!!

Architectsare the real creators of amazing building and structures. Skyscapers in metro cities would not have been possible without them. While capitalism furthers the growth and prosperity of human race, tall buildings with beautiful designs and glory show the grandeur. The rebuilding of 'Twin Tower' collapsed in 9/11 incident and other towers and structures show the real dint of human talent and excellence, creativity and vision.

Required Personal / Professional Skills:
A person requires sound Interpersonal & Communications skills and immense physical stamina to get into a profession of architecture. He is expected to work on desk as well as on construction site. Excellent memory and sound concentration level, flexibility, patience, team spirit, responsibility, and accountability, etc are some common personality traits which are essential for professional success in architecture and design. But it is the right credentisls in academics which matters the most in architecture.

Job Prospects:
Architects can work with construction companies wherein they are asked to serve as a designer. Initially, an architect is expeced to understand specific requirements of clients and strike a right balance between aesthetics and practicality. Additionally, an architect with skills can help clients by his ideas in terms of balancing the requirements of appearance, financial budget, and time frame. Some architects even work independently and earn their livelihood through consultancy fees which entirely depends upon the skills and the profile as well as work experience.

Most of the jobs in architecture come up in government organizations such as Public Works Department, Ministry of Defense, National Building Organization, Town & Country Planning Organization, National Institute of Urban Affairs, Departments of Railways, Post and Telegraphs, Public Sector Undertakings, Housing and Urban Development Corporation, National Building Construction Corporation Ltd, etc. While some other organization or bodies like State Departments, Housing Boards, Local Bodies for Construction Work, Builders, Architecture Firms, Consultants, etc. also hire architects.

Architects working independently have ample scope in terms of earning. Specialization works well for better prospectsin architecture as it is a matter of requirement.

The demand of Architects is expected to increase in next couple of decades as India is going to expand FDI in real estate and it will attract huge money from foreign companies. So their won't be any saturation in jobs in coming years.

Further doubts or queries feel free to contact.

Rahul.
