Generally, government establishments require the applicants to be degree holders with at least a two-year experience in a government approved institution. Placements are available for municipalities and govt. centers that cater to the needs to the physically challenged.
  • Physiotherapists can function in various settings such as hospitals, health clubs, nursing homes, private practices, fitness centers etc.  They can also become a part of private clinics and practices and rehabilitation organizations apart from becoming a part of the medical panel of educational institutions and armed forces.
  • One can choose the path of becoming an educator after gaining the required qualifications.
  • Lately, there has been a trend of many physiotherapists opening up their own practices as well.
  • They work and give their counsel in dispensaries and OPDs.
  • Spas are an interesting workplace for physiotherapists.

There are a lot of opportunities for the profession in the western world including United States of America (USA), United Kingdom (UK) etc. wherein they are recruited by large pharmaceutical corporations.

While the eligibility criterion for admittance varies from one institution to another, students from science stream typically find it easier to cope than any other background.
