The main work and responsibilities of the textile engineers have been listed below:

1. The textile engineers have to attend meetings with the management and decide upon the design and the suppliers and the schedule of the various production activities. There are a number of decisions that are being made in such meetings and therefore they are extremely important. They have to present the plan and the whole list of activities that are to be carried out in the production process.

2. They have to decide upon the raw material and contact the suppliers for that. They also need to coordinate with various other coworkers such as supply chain professionals and transporters for the adequate supply of the materials.

3. They work on the manufacturing and the design of the fibres. These are two separate processes and are carried differently. The design team usually work separately from the production team. The textile engineer has to coordinate with the designers and researchers in order to design the right stuff and prepare the designs on the computers. Once designs are prepared and are approved by the higher authority, the production process begins.

4. Throughout the production of the textile material, the textile engineer has to coordinate with the technicians and other engineers so that the quality of the production can be maintained. The quality assurance is usually an important issue for textile engineers and they have to keep a regular check on that. It is their responsibility to create high quality product.

5. The textile engineers also have to get involved in the sales, marketing and distribution of the manufactured products. This is because they are aware about all the technicalities and the features of the product and they can very well explain all this to the clients and customers with ease. Therefore their role in figuring out the marketing strategy is very crucial. They have to get in touch with the sales team and ensure that the sales reach the right customers and they can be scaled over the period of time. Thus they work on various range of activities.
